It created a very sweet romance that took the time to build the chemistry between Isabelle and Thomas. It even had a crush on Isabelle like WTH? The writing is smooth and consistent. Their backgrounds just mesh and there’s more depth to their characters. It didn’t just break the tension, it eliminated it. This was my complaint with book one in the series; however, Bast toned it down some in book 2 making it better. Sad to say, it was like twice or three times only that I was impressed of her show of power. Also, the entire concept of moisture memory is a unique spin on water magic. Her character build-up was good since I’m already familiar with Adam. Rue takes the weapon from her.
