It was good to listen to at the end of a frustrating day. Probably even the best. Carlin with a series of questions that came up during the reading. Can’t bring all this stuff. It was near the end of the book and frankly he had lost me by that point. Since so much of his humor relies on the delivery, I think this was the best way to appreciate it. This book was less political than his other material, and that is one reason why I found it lacking.


Mostly stuff to wear.

He claims to love individuals but despises when they start to form groups and tribes. But for those who simply enjoyed what he accomplished as a comic, be content to let his polished barbarisms and command of the English language be relegated to a microphone and a stage.

You tell your lawyer to stuff it. George Carlin is one of my favorite comedians who made grumpy cynical 60 year olds cool.

To say I read this book is deceptive. I happen to really like him because he says exactly what he thinks, and he ponders things most of us never consider. So droppnigs you get right down to it, your house is nothing more than a place to keep your stuff.

And unlike other comics who believe we’ve somehow misplaced the American dream, Carlin presents it as a great—but incredibly funny—myth.

Ccarlin though he claims at the start of the book to really be an optimist, I can’t help but think it would have been hard brian come up with most of his material without being a little bitter.

But most of the rest is comprised of one-liners, lists of words, list of fictional droopings, sometimes an eyebrow is raised, sometimes a smile is just around the corner, but the book isn’t as good as it is made to be. Planet, species, race, nation, state, religion, party, union, club, association, neighborhood improvement committee; I have no interest in any of it. I got a kick out of George Carlin’s in your face, irreverent style of humor.
