Some games will require you to relaunch krep before the shasowfell will be downloaded. Why bother with a town and a town plot if you’re just gonna railroad the PCs out of it as soon as possible? The folk at WotC also did a republication, and the fixed adventure is now downloadable for free at their TryDND website. The final two encounters are OK on their own, but the presentation of evil cleric followed by evil cleric is weak from a pacing standpoint.
Kobold raiders are menacing the Nentir Vale village of Winterhaven. Warning, author has a poor view of 4e but his ideas are great. It introduced the new 4E experience.

Michael Ironside is the party’s archenemy; every PC has sworn a personal quest to kill him. Is it even worth it to try and fix the module or is it beyond fixing without a lot of time intensive DM-effort? When I was running it, I could not find anything. Once you finish Keep on the Shadowfell, what next? I discourage you from running it without any changes – it has led to many total party kills TPKs of groups, the adventure itself has too many fights, and the story is lackluster at best.

[4E] Why I think H1 Keep on the Shadowfell sucked
I agree, it’s not the best module. Please see the instructions page for reasons why this item might not work within Tabletop Simulator. Putting in cool story and intriguing plotlines is certainly something the guys at Wizards could do; any analysis which relies on the assumption that they don’t get story is pretty weak.
