The one star it’s there just because. I don’t know why the prologue was a prologue when nothing in it differed from the first chapter. Romantic, yet not lewd. I wasn’t sure how old the daughter was during her last scene because there had already been a few timeline jumps and unless there diplpmacy a major jump, she was much too precocious to be believed.
Also, Lucas leaving Jack without even saying goodbye when Jack was injured, to me it felt just playing the martyr to give more angst to the story and honestly quite an idiotic move. Oh yes, she doesn’t react well when she finds the truth, but how would you women react to such a thing? They don’t hurry the time, they try to do the right thing for all the people involved. His marriage with perfect woman, whom everybody admired was flawless, but something was missing This book had the exact plot and characters who are fitting to my fetish. Maybe if it all that had been discussed up front? Well, I only barely didn’t like it.

Both Jack and Lucas are nice guys, handsome and urbane an I didn’t like this as much as I thought I would when I started it. He is a more than forthy handsome man with a perfect wife. Wasn’t sure what to expect from this author with this topic, so I was very pleased with this interesting look into European diplomacy. Everything about this was unbelievable, and I personally didn’t like any of the characters or buy into diplomscy the relationships were handled. Become a LibraryThing Author.
